The 5 Disneyland Park Rides You Must Do

In the worst case scenario, you only have time to do FIVE rides at Disneyland Park. What do you chose!? Well I honestly couldn’t choose just 5 so I broke it down for families with young children and families with older children to help steer ya in the right direction. In my opinion these are iconic rides that make Disney… well Disney. Of course there are plenty more amazing attractions that you absolutely shouldn’t miss. But for the sake of argument, here’s the top 5 must do.

For Families with Young Children (0-5 years)

  1. It’s a Small World
Get a popcorn from the closest food cart before getting in line. It’s a nice long ride and the perfect place to sit back, relax and snack away)

  2. Jungle Cruise
There is nothing better than some amazing dad jokes and fake animals to keep the adults and kids entertained.

  3. Pirates of the Caribbean
Is dark but still fun and any age is allowed to ride. Good introduction to “bigger rides” for the little ones.

  4. Dumbo the Flying Elephant
You can’t do Disney without riding Dumbo! Completely a fan favorite.

  5. Peter Pan’s Flight
This line is always insanely long, but it’s just so adorable and magical. Plus if you use the Disney Play app while you’re in line, you will have some fun entertainment and surprises while you wait.

For Families with Older Children (5+)

  1. Big Thunder Mountain Railroad
We love riding this one at sunset/nighttime, but really you can’t go ride with this fun runaway train.

  2. Haunted Mansion
My absolute favorite ride in the park. Beware of hitchhiking ghosts.

  3. Mad Tea Party
Not everyone’s stomach can handle this one, but if you can, it’s a classic that will leave you with a big ol smile.

  4. Jungle Cruise
This one made both lists because I firmly believe you can’t miss it.

  5. Pirates of the Caribbean
Again, such a Disney classic. Fun fact, all but ONE skeleton is fake in this ride. Can you find the one REAL skull on display?
